Time to Saddle Up
Horseback riding courses for abled riders are now forming at Star Community's equestrian center. The center is located at 13674 Greencastle-Williamsport Pike (Route 63).

Each course consists of eight weekly sessions held on Saturdays and Sundays. The first session of the next course will begin in March. Lessons, which take place in indoor or outdoor arenas depending on the weather, are for abled riders age five and older. The lessons are for riders of all abilities, including beginners. Participants will be taught riding skills from basic to advanced techniques, starting at their initial skill level and progressing to higher-level skills throughout the course. Star's equestrian center is a part of Star Community, Inc., a non-profit organization providing residential, day program and therapeutic riding services to individuals with developmental disabilities including Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, seizure disorders and Angelman's syndrome.

For additional information on course content and registration, contact Equestrian Center Director Ginny Gaylor or Barn Manager Vanedra Wingert at 301-791-6222.
